The Power of Black & White

When I started photography I was only 10 years old, everything was black and white. Color existed, but it wasn’t very good. Even now, I think black and white photos are often better than color, unless the picture really needs color to tell its story.

  • I worked with KODAK and learned many photographic techniques including black and white, colour and X-RAY imaging.

A Special Moment in the Northwest Passage

During an expedition through the Northwest Passage, I had the opportunity to interact with the Inuit.

On the HMS Erebus

During the voyage with Adventure Canada through the Northwest Passage. Passegers were fortunate to board the Franklin Expedition wreck of the HMS Erebus. The Erebus and Terror were last seen in August 1845 and the wreckage of the HMS Erebus was discovered in September 2014 off King William Island. The HMS Terror was not found until September 2016.

Unfortunately, photography was prohibited on board the support vessel during our visit.

Architectural photography as fine art

We see thousands of buildings every day. The right photo and setting can really make a building stand out. I love the unique shapes that guide the eye through the picture. In some countries, taking photos of people on the street is not allowed without their permission. You must ask first, and if they say no, you should respect their choice and not take the photo.
